I was privileged to be asked to be part of this to represent the web guy. Great cast and no Steve Weiss! Much nicer dynamic!!

FilmFellas Cast 6: “The DP Edition” will feature an eclectic mix of cinematographers from all spectrums of the independent film scene: Robert Primes, ASC (Thirty Something), Trent Opaloch (District 9), Philip Bloom (If I were Prime Minister) and first time host Jens Bogehegn, Cinematographer/Producer of FilmFellas/critics.

The dynamics of such an award winning cast of major players brings forth lively round table discussions from a unique set of perspectives and diverse points-of-view. FilmFellas Cast 6 covers such topics as: creative freedom; the art of collaboration, maintaining the vision/direction of the film, the challenging DP/Director relationship, and cutting edge “game changers” and techniques in cinematography.

  1. I love watching these webisodes because I’m very young and blessed to be working in Industrial Video work but I would love to break away and try something different.

Robert Primes money standards really touched me though. I really need to start shooting, producing, and acting in something I love.

As of right now, I “want” more money, but I know I “need” more passion.

Can’t wait to see a new episode.

  2. I know these guys have forgotten more knowledge about film then I actually have. But I got dizzy with the constant shot changes had to finish it just listening to the audio. I think Philip was right in the last critics, too many cameras, I wish they would of used one of the cameras to give us an overhead shot, I think that would have been cool. Ok, now I’ll go swag off like most of you are probably thinking.

  3. Whooah…that was so difficult to watch…I know you guys at Zacuto have more toys to play with than you know what to do with but that was just badly shot and edited full stop. Crossing the line every few seconds. It was cut like a promo – 1 second edits on a conversation piece!!?? Come on…

    1. Oh yes!! It’s interesting conversation, but it’s a calm dinner conversation ! More stable (and less) cameras would be appropriate for this occasion. All those movements and cuts made me slightly seasick 🙂 I finished just by listening audio.
Anyway, good for realizing that less is sometimes more.

  4. Thanks for posting this video. I just bought my first (ever) digital camera which i intend to use for shooting clips as a hobby. So i’m no expert by a long shot, but even i thought there were a lot of shots following eachother.

It was a great conversation though, keep ‘m coming!

  5. Great looking set and good conversation but i had to turn it off because i was getting sea sick with all the movement. Keep it up I love the idea just slow it down!

  6. Hit the spot with the remarks, I would say that I would have taken every image without the film in the camera, because part of being an image maker is the experience that enriches your life and develops you as a person
