Hello Philip.

I have two questions; i hope you'll find time to answer them.

Do you use/alter any specific settings in the 7D menus before you start shooting, or are we looking at out of the box recordings?

Does you 7D suffer from pattern noise at low ISO in skin colors? I see that problem more and more discussed on the internet. My 7D has that too. Was wondering if it is an issue, or that there is a simple work around; either in-camera or in post.

Thanks for you time,

I am but have never seen a D300s. I emailed Nikon to ask if I could test it and they didn't reply. So what is a guy to do?

Probably not Clara. My thoughts on the GH1 are that it as an awesome camera with a cripplingly low bit rate making it not really usable for broadcast. For other stuff it's great. It's also very cheap, great to operate, light and so many other cool things.

The 7d is a superior film making device as the codec is very strong, it's far from perfect in many ways but I will be using the 7d for paid jobs.

Thank you so much for making all this information available!

I still have one question though... The 5d is way out of my league, but I've read your reviews on both the 7d and the panasonic lumix gh1 but couldn't come to a conclusion on which should I buy. Are you considering comparing the two any time soon?

Thank you!

Hi there

Shooting with 5d is lighter. But doesnt shoot 25p or 24p. That is a big issue. Overcrank is lovely on ex1...it depends on what sort of thing you want to make. What is it you want to make?

First of all, let me thank you for all information you are sharing. Your jobs are fantastic, and this is very motivating... I will see next week if I can attend the Dublin session on Sept. 6th...

I am in the process to make a video film in which I would like to provide really good DOF. I own an EX1. Some friends are doing video films with Canon 5DMarKII and I was wondering what would be your recommendation on the following options :
1) EX1 + Letus adaptor
2) EOS 5DMarkII (video mode)
3) any other DLSR using video mode

I understand that my EX1 will allow for some slow motion (720p) and this is the only benefit (still substantial) that I found. On the other hand, shooting with EOS 5D markII must be lighter.

What do you reckon?
