Hi everyone, i've seen this short report on youtube; and I can tell straight away it's from a canon camera/lens. But can anyone tell me which specific body or lens shot this? and perhaps a profile setting? I know they probably added some grading in post- any idea what? I'm basically looking for a very similar look and want to know what they used. My geuss is it's a Mark II camera body with a 24-70 2.8 zoom lens maybe?. If you can work out what it is please let me know!
Looks like the 5D with 24-70mm. But in today's market I'd rather shoot on a C100. Better highlight handling, less aliasing and moire and in a body designed for video work.
You could probably do it with either. It's the relationship between focal length and sensor size that gives the 5D cameras their look over the 7D and 60D brigade. The 5d Mk3 will have an image that is lower in aliasing and moire but needs a little extra sharpening in post just to add a bit of sizzle to the image. There's some hairy 1080i (interlaced) footage in there that brings the tone down (just an editing oopsie - have been faced with this myself). Canon DSLR footage often has blacks that fall off a cliff, so you'll need to juggle your picture profiles if you want to match with other cameras. Sorry to be trite and hackneyed, but guys - it's all about what you do with a given camera. Difference between 5D Mk2 and 5D Mk3? The given look? Really? You'd do that in post. Eeeew, sorry - sounding a bit catty of late. Meant with warmest wishes for your shoot.
