Need lens advice

    Hey all!

I'm considering upgrading from my 7D and purchasing an FS100 as of course its an amazing camera for the price.

I'm a little unsure about everything however. I'm not sure if I should pay the extra for the kit lens or invest in my own lenses.

There's no way I can afford to get Ziess, as I'm a Uni student :((! So I was wondering what other lenses I can use. I have had a look but all the different reviews, lens codes etc are hella confusing!

I was thinking Nikon lenses if they fit? Maybe the Samyang 35mm? And do I need an adapter?

    Thanks in advance!
    Alex.

you can mount damn near any lens onto the FS100, so long as you have the requisite adapter. I use all my nikon glass on it with a $300 Novoflex adapter. My Nikon 80-200mm, 85mm 1.8, 100 2.8, 50mm 1.8, and Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 all work beautifully on it. I also have a lensbaby and two cheap Diana lenses that work well as well.

If you already have Canon glass, get a Canon adapter and make use of your lenses you already have! Get a good adapter, though. No point in cheaping out on the piece that goes between a 4+ grand camera and potentially thousands of dollars in glass - I also ordered a cheapie off ebay for $13, but it really was wretched, with light leaks everywhere and it felt like the glass was going to fall off. I know little about the Canon adapters, but I hear metabones is good?

Hey Ry, thanks for the reply!
Yeah it seems like all my glass should be cool for the body. I've heard all the adapters for Nikon (bar the cheap rubbish) are great so I think I'm going to go for that if I'm honest.

I do have canon glass, but nothing that's really worth keeping as its pretty cheap stuff that isn't great!
And the other thing is regarding the adapters. I've heard the canon ones are quite sketchy, like you have to have a battery power and what not?

But yeah I think I'm going to go for that adapter you have and get that samyang 35mm nikon mount and a few other Nikons!

    Thanks for the help.
