Breaking Bad Mad Men Dexter American Dad (shut up!! I made a poster of Roger for my office!) Spartacus - was unexpectedly good can't wait to see Boardwalk Empire. Yes, I'm a late bloomer.
Actually, the visuals changed because they changed DPs, picking up the incredible Michael Slovis. http://blogs.amctv.com/breaking-bad/2009/04/michael-slovis-interview.php
...add Sherlock now. Thanks so much for suggesting it, Philip! Just watched 1st episode with my daughter and she says she liked it better than the action version with Robert Downey Jr.
Hm. Lost, though it's over, I still watch episodes here and there. Suits is a pretty great and unique show! (at least before the other networks started their new shows) Psych, pretty dang hilarious! Fringe, I don't know how they keep coming up with those weird cases! I'd have been stumped after the first season! The Mentalist Person of Interest, though I didn't watch too much of it, only about the first half of the season. House, MD. Heroes was great! (Before they cut it) And so was The Unit. Has anyone else watched the older shows "Yes Minister" and/or "Yes Prime Minister"? I thought those were great. I tend to like (to some extent) whatever is on...though that has both it's pros and cons.
Can't believe I forgot to list the House! (Looks like the run is now over, though.) Hey, about the UK Sherlock (a brilliant show to be sure!). I felt the "living miniatures" shots of London they inserted every now and then were a bit out of place... - what do you guys think?
1.) The Walking Dead (read the graphic novels since the beginning) 2.) Game of Thrones (love the books, love the show) 3.) In Plain Sight (under-rated character-driven show) 4.) Eureka (hil-ar-i-ous...) 5.) American Horror Story (great ghost story) 6.) Fringe (my guilty pleasure) 7.) Royal Pains (another under-rated character-driven story) 8.) Doctor Who (I've been a Who-vian since I was a kid) 9.) Battlestar Galactica (I still watch it every time it's on) 10.) New Girl (love Zooey Dechanel)
I seem to be one of the few people loving the new Gervais/Merchant show LIFE'S TOO SHORT. Warwick Davis as a kind of Basil Fawlty of the acting world. I've seen it get some quite harsh notices, but I've found it hilarious.
I think it's brilliant. In a single episode you can go from desperately wanting Warwick to succeed and get his life together, to desperately wanting him to get his comeuppance for being such a twat, and back again several times. If anything, it's even more wonderfully excruciating than the original Office. Davis has John Cleese style physical comedy down pat. I wonder how much of the backlash is coming from bleeding heart "advocates" who spout the sanctimonious nonsense that it's wrong to laugh at a dwarf in a bin. I did - long and loud. Every time I think of his eyes peering over the top I laugh again.
My favorite recent tv show is The Walking Dead. Its just awesome series. Love to watch it online. Download South Park Episodes , Download Bleach Episodes
TV shows just get better and better. Here are my favs: Homeland (Simply the best! Better than all the rest!) Walking Dead (I live for this) Hunted (Great new show on BBC) Good Cop (Excellent mini-series but not really pleased with the way it ended) BBC Horizon (Learn something) Game of Thrones (Been waiting all my life for a TV show like this) The Borgias (Nice!) Breaking Bad (There is just something refreshing about the way this is shot that makes me happy) Falling Skies (please don't ask me why I like this becasue I really don't know why, but I love it)
