Is there anyway we can injest MXF Files shot on canon C300 into Final Cut Pro X? I tried downloading a plugin installer from canon web site. But its not working Thanking You in Advance,
Yes, it's easy to do but you have to keep the the file structure of the memory card intact. I've got a blog post here with some info and a link to Abel Cine's blog. I also have a blog post which goes into using FCP X or Canon's XF Utility to back up C300 compact flash cards.
I think the native workflow is to use the canon XF plugin, but since you mentioned it’s not working, not sure what’s the problem, the plugin only works on Lion, make sure you are using a Lion. Another solution, you can use a third party program to convert the mxf to prores format and then ingest into FCP, mxf converter from pavtube is a tool I am using, hope you have luck with it.
If you found your FCP X can't ingest your MXF files from C300 even with a plug-in, you'd better transcode the MXF files to a FCP most compatible format like Apple ProRes. The post Tricks for Importing and Editing Canon C300 MXF files in Final Cut Pro X will give you a hint.
