I just posted a video showing examples of the 3 preset Canon C300 Custom Picture profiles: Off, EOS Std, and Cinema. In additional I have shot each of the available Gamma and Color Matrix settings to show how they effect the image. The Custom Picture settings in the C300 are extremely detailed and this video shows 2 of the more major adjustments that can be made to the image. I have included both waveform and vectorscopes on the images to show how each setting effects gamma and color. I have created some Custom Profiles: -One that matches a Canon 5d when its set to Neutral 0,-4,-2,0 -One that has a baked in grade for clients who don't intend to grade footage in edit Send me a message if you are interested in trying these profiles
Hi Kevin, Just got my C300 love the c-log but got a 'baked in' shoot this week. Would love to see your settings. Thanks.
Hey David I have uploaded a zip file containing the Custom Picture setting I made for a "baked in" look. Let me know if it works for you.
Thanks ever so much, I couldn't ask for your 5d neutral setting as well. Got to match 5d and c300 for 2 camera shoot. Any advice?
Here are two Custom Picture settings I created for the C300. The first is a "baked in look" (CPICT301.CPF), and the second matches a Canon 5dmk2 when it is set to neutral 0,-4,-2,0. (CPICT3012).CPF. They are attached to this post in a zip file
Hi Kevin, Thanks for the zip file.. The problem is that i can,t copy it to my camera. I have already copied it to my CF card, but the camera won,t let me copie it.. I probably should read the manual, but i did could you help out? thnx Reinout
Thnx Kevin, Got the settings in the camera, should read the manual better next time Keep you posted about the results! Cheers R
Hello Kevin, I´ve downloaded the two settings (unziped) to SD card but the c300 will not recognize the media. Could it be that the pc exe-file was downloade to my Mac? Thank you for your replay, Janolof
The files need to be in a certain directory structure. I dont have access to the sd card, as i'm waiting at a airport. But just save a default setting to the sd card and you'll be able to see how it needs to be setup correctly.
Hi again Kevin, Yes it worked with the right folder structure. Thanks very much for great help. //Janolof
Maybe Kevin could repack the file in the correct structure. So it would be easier for us c300 rookies
HI guys, I have some problemes to open the file (CPICT3012).CPF. What application will i need to read the content on my computer . Or if anyone would have the patience to wrtite about teh camera setting of that recipe, that would be really appreciate. ! thank you very much in advance
Files need to be copied onto an SD card and loaded on the camera. They are not files you open on your computer.
