Anyone else have one of these out there? I got it about a week ago and love it so far. It is my first time with a full frame, upgraded from a t2i. I think it is a great investment. I will use it for video, photo, and time-lapse/stop motion. The wifi has been a lot more useful than I thought it would be.

How are other people liking or disliking it? Any problems you have found so far? What are you favorite features?

Here is some unedited footage I took Christmas morning. It definitely could use some correction, but I wanted to let people see what it looks like out of the camera. Looks easily manipulated in post. It was shot with the kit lens 24-105mm and most picture style is lowest sharpness and less contrast and saturation than standard. Between 100-400 ISO, f4, and 60 shutter speed.

Looks great. I'm torn between the 6D and 5D Mark III. I'll be using it 90% of the time for video (weddings, Bar Mitzvahs etc)

It seems like those are the two cameras that a lot of people are choosing between. For me, the extra $1000 was not worth the extra features on the 5d. The 5d will get you slightly better video, but the money saved on the 6D can get you a nice lens. You may need the differences in storage if you are shooting a lot of video at one time since the 6D only has an SD card slot. It also does not has a headphone jack.

I wish that the wifi would allow you to record video on the 6D. That would make it a lot better. But it is very useful to use when trying to out the camera in a difficult spot because you can frame the shot with your phone. And then instantly download it and text/email/upload to wherever you want.

Either one you get you will be making the right decision.

So many great things about the 6D, but I've been disappointed with the amount of moire and aliasing which is still present. I think I'll stick with my 60D for the time being until next year's models are released. If you're shooting lots of DSLR video and intend to do it professionally, I think the 5D3 is the only way to go at the moment. 6D looks great for still though.

How about 5D mkii vs 6D?
I mainly do video, and have used the mkii a lot, which also suffers with moire and aliasing, but would anyone be able to compare the video and still quality of the 6D and the 5D mkii as they are much more keenly priced as competition for each other rather than stretching for the mkiii?
Does the 6D deliver better results as it is much newer technology, or does the 5D mkii still rule for DSLR video in this price range?
Any feedback wold be really helpful, as looking to get one or the other pretty soon.

    We've started doing camera reviews. Here's the 6D V 7D

    Hello,

Early Dec 12 I got myself the Canon 6D for shooting video. Unfortunately I found out pretty fast that the moire and aliasing issues are so bad that the camera is unusable for video production. I had to sell it on eBay and now bought the Canon 5D Mark 3 instead. For taking pictures the camera is wonderful and I can highly recommend it.

To show the moire and aliasing issues I uploaded this simple clip.
