Beautiful Shot!
Very nice blog too.
Philip,
Beautiful test … as always.
Since you seem to have an “in” with the folks at Letus, when will this 1/2″ relay become available to us blokes on the other side of the pond?
Do they have a target price?
Thanks.
Peter
Excellent kit. Master class work.

Tasty! Just ordered an EX3… There’s always more kit to save up for it seems – the relay and ultimate are def on the agenda now. Nice work Phil!
One thing that concerns me about this EX3 1/2″ relay is that, unlike their Pro B4 2/3″ unit, it would only be utilizable with this Sony EX3 camera.
This would eventually make a unit difficult to sell used compared to a B4 mount 2/3″ relay that could be used on so many different camera systems. I would hope that Letus will set a lower price to make up for that.
I have also seen the 3 photo comparison that you posted on DVI, and I did not see an increase of sharpness between the relay/Ultimate and a direct link of the Ultimate to the stock lens. I am sure that you gain the two stops due to the fewer elements in the relay, but to be very honest I did not a significant sharpness advantage.
Since the Pro B4 mount is still not available till March, I am guessing that we should not hold our breath for this 1/2″ relay.
Once again … really nice work in Piccadilly, Phil.
You should shoot a day or two in Times Square, NYC. Unfortunately we have a naked cowboy there. However, on a warmer day the naked cow girl makes an appearance.
Loved the close-ups! The editing seemed a bit disconnected for this one though.
Hey Phil,
I was wondering if you used a hd/sdi flash drive like Convergent Design to get 100mbps. Because there doesn’t appear to be that much noise here. Real nice work! Is it that important? I am looking into getting this set up.
i will be trying the nano flash at some point…
