    Hi Phillip,
I was moved by your “if i were a prime minister” series. How did you do the sir Adrew green piece, i mean the out of focus bit. It was quite cool. What mics were you using in all of these pieces?

    John (Nairobi, KENYA)

    1. pbloom says:

very kind…always pleased when people comment on these as they are very special to me…I did a lot of post work in Avid on that piece. about 2 days work…

Just sony wireless mics that are built into the beta sx camcorder.

    Hello Phillip,
I really enjoyed this collection of films. The variety of the locations and the movement added a very nice variation for each one. Were you given a list or did you help with the selection of the subjects?
    Mark

    1. pbloom says:

I was involved at every process, although the subjects were basically the ones who said yet!! Glad you liked them!

    Hi Philip

Hmm I guess I feel very strongly about these now I have looked at most of your past work. Because they signify a number of things. Firstly how far technology has come in only a couple of years as well as your use of it and how you have grown as a filmmaker. Also I am again shocked at how few views there are on your old work on vimeo proving that there can be great stuff on the net that just isn’t seen especially narrative pieces. I mean these were the works that the BAFTA’s recognized and that you are constantly cited as being responsible for everywhere why wouldn’t people watch them… It seems only short things cut to music or comedy is watched nowadays everything else is marketed extensively. These were great, Sir Andrew Green was my favorite that one was on par with your current stuff dont even know how the speedups surrounding him talking were done, very creative. Would love to know what these were shot on. The content was a little difficult to watch for me personally because I am not politically inclined at all but very enlightening. Just wanted to share my thoughts

    Regards
    Francis

    1. pbloom says:

thanks Francis, these are very important to me. thanks for watching them. They were all shot on a Betacam SX camera.

      1. Francisccm says:

Thanks for the reply and reading my message. It’s great how you make the time with all the craziness going on. Much appreciated. Hope paths cross in the next little while, may have to hire you if not :P
