For something a little different here are a few of the quirky pieces I have made for Five News in the UK. All shot, directed and edited by me (apart from Naked Calender which was cut by someone else). Mostly shot on the DVCAM DSR-450.

I really like your work. Keep it up. Which Cameras do you shoot on? I am currently using the HD P2 from Panasonic with the Letus adapter. It looks great but your footage has something extra. Care to share a few tricks?

    Thanks Kashi,

Everything on this page except Loch Ness was shot in SD DVCAM on the DSR 450, no adaptor.

A lot of gradng work has been done with Magic Bullet.

The Straight 8 piece was interesting – I like the self-imposed limitations. Shame that the gorilla-like cameraman crept into shot.

Surprised more people haven’t watched these. Good stuff.

Glad you like them. Am proud of them and they were done very fast.

Exceptionally directed news items Phil, you are a class act, I wish I had that creativity.

      thanks v much!

  7. I just wanted to say, that in comparison to the news media we get here in the states, this stuff is really, really well done phil. Here almost every newscast is so lame and cheesy, it’s refreshing to see the news actually done right for a change.
