We stood in the same spot you did @3:00 for the timelapse in Omotesando, deciding where to go next, we went to the condom shop over the road..
I want to do stuff like this and I am wondering legally how you were able to accomplish all of these shots?? I know that here in California (Im sure everywhere in US) You need a license to shoot and if you get a shot of a defined face you need to have them waivered? i am pretty new into the Film World. But this is a big question I have… If you could e-mail me or something that would be awesome. Thanks -Nick

Okay, I know Sony footage when I see it. But, how were you able to pull off those time lapse pans? Did you just repeat the tripod settings as close as you could and match them in post? Did you have a level and measuring tape? Confess Phil…confess!!!

Having just recently returned from a trip to Japan it was so wonderful to see it captured so well with this video.
My head still feels like its in Asia, but my body is back in San Diego!
It’s a shame the homeless are often disregarded or invisible to people carrying on with their busy lives.
Do you know if there’s any help for the homeless in Tokyo?

Your film is a wonderful portrayal of a very lonely city. I’m glad you chose to highlight the homeless, who are largely ignored in Japan.
I was living in Matsusaka a couple of years ago when a homeless man froze to death in front of Nagoya’s main station. It took three days and tens of thousands of passers-by before somebody noticed he wasn’t moving.
I wonder how the nation will fare as its people grow older.

Philip – Loved it. I’ve only been there once, so far, to see my cousin get married at the Meiji Shrine. You might’ve been to the same place… about 2 minutes in looks very familiar.
I don’t know if you’re familiar with the movie Lost in Translation. Funny thing, the same song is used when Scarlett Johansson’s character went to Kyoto. The scene was mostly a train sequence followed by visiting historical landmarks in Kyoto. But as always awesome shots, love the music, keep at it
