I have done a number of 1, 2 & 3 day workshops over the past 5 years, rarely more than 2 or 3 in a row. I once did 12 in the US in 4 weeks about 4 years ago, that was hard… but nothing that compares with what my good friend Vincent LaForet is doing starting next week. Like the amazing Alex Buono last year with his “Visual Storytelling Tour” he is hitting the road from May 6th to July the 13th! 31 cities across the US, which is an insane amount to do, as workshops are harder work that shoots! If you went to one of Alex’s workshops last year, you will know the quality of what to expect. It’s organised and run by the same team.
As you can see from the above video, Vince’s focus is “Motion” and it will be a combination of lecture and practical demonstrations. Broken down into a daytime and an evening workshop. Click the outline below to be taken to a detailed breakdown of each section.
Vince suffered a nasty as hell arm fracture he whilst he was with myself, Tom Lowe and others at TimeFest 2014 in Dubai in January (you can see a bit of Vince out in the desert before it happened and some stuff on top of the world’s tallest building in the video below).
He conceived of this tour whilst recovering and spending countless hours in his home theatre watching his favourite movies, analysing them, and learning so much from them. And from that this workshop was built.
If you are lucky enough to live in one of the cities Vince is visiting then this is a must-attend event if you have any interest in filmmaking. If you can travel to one, I highly recommend you do! After all, what is a short flight compared to the chance to be part of this? If I was in the US for any of this time I would certainly come along to one without a doubt! If you can’t make it, then it will be available as a download. Not as good as being there, as you will miss the whole interactive part of it, but better than nothing! You can also buy a combo pack with Alex’s tour download as well.
Enjoy if you are going and Vince…good luck and have a great time! Hopefully something will pop up that will bring me over there as I would to experience this myself!
