Revenge of the great camera shootout from Zacuto part 2 now live…which camera looks best to you?

Shootout

15th July 2012

ETHICS STATEMENT: Zacuto have been my friends for many years and are of course one of my site sponsors. They are more than friends, they are my family.  Although this does not stop me checking out gear that competitors make. Competition makes you better! You can read more about this on my ethics statement here. […]

The Great Camera Shootout Part 2: Sensors & Sensitivity….Check it out and my thoughts…

Shootout

27th July 2011

Part 2 of the fascinating documentary of the SCCE is now up. It’s a compelling watch. Way more entertaining than the SCCE itself and actually really educational, packed with a lot of technical info as to why and how these cameras do the things they do.       Shootouts are funny old things. I […]

  • This is intriguing. Ignore the cheeky body cap as that’s somewhat misleading!

We’ve seen a few very high quality Chinese cinema cameras but this is the first attempt at a Spanish one that I have come across!

This is “Fran 8K” from #Cinemartin
The sensor is slightly larger than full frame. They call it “Vista vision” on the body. It’s obviously 8K and it’s also Global shutter.
This is a very early camera, pre-alpha really. I will do what I can with it. It’s bloody heavy that’s for sure!

I am keeping my expectations low, that way I could be pleasantly surprised.

  • My wonderful mum @frogfran recovering after a massive spinal operation that she had on Monday. It’s all gone very well thankfully and she will be going home tomorrow! Yay! 🙂❤️
  • My wonderful Harriet the Greek in her old home last July. Check out my cat account to see how is she is getting on living with me in England 🙂❤️ @thebloomcats

  • Extract of my new edit which is live now at YouTube.com/philipbloom.
Shot in #Bournemouth yesterday with the @kinefinity #MavoLF and almost exclusively using the Canon 100-400 L II.
Filmed in 6K 50fps, 4K 75fps, HD 200fps.
Music by @dustinlaumusic from @musicbed “How to be alive”
  • A very successful day filming down in #Bournemouth today with the @kinefinity #MavoLF

Footage coming soon!
  • Just announced the @atomos_news #shinobi 5” 1080p monitor using the same panel as the Ninja V.

It’s 1000 nits, HDMI input only and costs just $399/€. It’s also incredibly light, I’ll share additional thoughts once I’ve used it more! 🙂
  • My favourite place in the world. My home town of Richmond-upon-Thames. Taken yesterday afternoon with the @djiglobal #OsmoPocket
  • Quite possibly the laziest cameraman ever! @julianwake is always lying down on the job, such a slacker!

That’s @sarahseal and @michael.sandiford in the bokeh!
