Great stuff Phillip, truly inspiring for us beginner folks, my next purchase is going to be the canon t2i and try to use its video capabilities to the maximum. Also, Philip...I see george went from CCD to now embracing CMOS. Were there any concerns from any of their folks about Rolling Shutter effects, which I now see can be resolved by software from the foundry or iMovie 11.

Films school is a great way to learn but it does not always make you great at what you do. going out and doing it for me is best advice, i have worked with many people out of film school. Some amazing, some not but think they are because they have just come out of film school. The real world is a lot tougher!

[...] My brother’s film school compatriot Garret O’Brien posted this nifty how-to video a week back or so. You may know Garret as Philip Bloom’s camera assistant for Lucasfilm’s Red Tails shoot. [...]

Phillip, can't thank you enough for all the help and info. Buying a 7d package next week. Your suggestions have helped guide me through. Two things. I will be shooting local commercials and was wondering if you had any reccomends concerning sound. Theres been no mention of it anywhere. Tiny budgets prohibit a pro sound man and equipt. Any tight budget sound packages you might suggest? Second, I'm going with the 7d because I'll be pulling all the focus, and I'm told it has better depth of field than the 5d. Any wisdom?
 Thanks again, CP
