I want to see just how many HD-DSLR shooters we can get in one place at one time. So the day after my LA masterclass I propose that if as many of you can get to LA on the 7th March come with your HD-DSLR to Venice Beach just outside the sidewalk cafe for 12pm and see just how many of us can make it! Please spread the word with message boards, forums, friends etc. Hey, even if you don’t have a HD-DSLR come along with a camera and document it. Be great to set what everybody gets out of the same situation!
We can have a nice drink or two and some grub afterwards!
Below is an interview I did at the Bay Area meet-up last week with Newsblaze.com and Michael Sato about why I do the meet ups and about the big meet up in Venice Beach coming soon.

We had a meet up in October in LA at the same place and it was great. Must have been about 30-40 of us. We need to smash that one this time.
Here is what I shot a couple of days after that last meet up…and below that is what Paul Reynolds who came all the way down from Oregon shot.

Met up with several camera geeks at Venice Beach on 10-30-09 to hang out with Philip Bloom. Good times, day, cool lens!

I would be there in a heart beat but I’ll be preparing to head out on an Owyhee River adventure at about that time… (One you where supposed to be on… Maybe next year when you’re not shooting at SkyWalker Ranch and stuff). I’ll be at NAB all week with nothing to do so maybe I’ll bug you then… and Tom Guilmette, and Tom Lowe… and…
Cheers!

February 17, 2010 at 04:08Hey Phillip –
Great to meet you in person at Skywalker today. Interesting intimate group discussion on digital filmmaking. Most of us haven’t had the luxury of seeing 5D output taken to the big screen. I must say that your two recent films (Skywalker and Prague) looked beautiful on that impressive 2K projection.

Philip Bloom Interview Before His Master Class With Hdi RAW Works » cinema5D news
March 6, 2010 at 23:39[...] I grabbed Philip Bloom before he went on to teach his Master Class with Hdi RAW Works. A few key players in the DSLR Revolution were there. Marshall Monitors, Red Rock Micro, LitePanels, Hot Rod Cameras and Hdi RAW Works. DOP Rodney Charters was also there along with about sixty or seventy attendees. Neil Smith ran the show and got everyone in order before Philip did his thing. It was a good time and lots of good and bad questions were answered by Mr. Bloom. I would encourage you to try to make it to the Bloom Fest Meet Up in Venice tomorrow. It should be a good place to chat about all things DSLR. Click Here For Info On The Meet Up. [...]

March 7, 2010 at 19:10I came out today for the 3/7 meet, but I had to leave before meeting anybody.
