In regards to the PMW-EX1R:
would it be possible to choose 64 fps from the s. shutter function menu and also pick 1080p and/or cache recording?

Phil, will you get both of these cameras for a video-review soon? By the way, it's a pity Sony missed the chance to implement MPEG-IMX in SD in the PMW-F350...

Yeah, Phil! Why so hesitant to talk about the 9D Mark XXIV..It hasnt been relased, nor will it for another 5 years or so, but why so hesitant to speak on it?

Haha, just giving you a hard time regarding that ridiculous question above.

Ed, you should read Phils blog/post about the 1D Mark IV that he wrote a few days ago.

here's a little breakdown of the new stuff from someone who got to play around with early models. he goes into the new features, shows some footage and says it'll cost the same as the EX:

Philip,

Just wondering if you have thought about doing a side-by-side rolling shutter and whip pan comparison between DSLRs and Sony's 3CMOS cameras (EX1, EX3, or 350). I hear that you get relatively bad skew, wobble, "jello-effect" on DSLRs. But perhaps that is due to the larger sensor, greater number of rows to scan, and thus longer time required to capture each frame on a DSLR.

To test this, perhaps you could shoot a fast moving subject with a DSLR and Sony camera side-by-side or mount a DSLR and Sony camera to the same tripod head and perform a whip pan?

Perhaps adding a CCD camera to the test would be a good baseline. This might help people understand whether or not it is really worth it to pay the extra money for CCD and also understand the limitations of each sensor technology when it comes to rolling shutter.

Just curious.

Thanks for the work and reporting that you do!
