This blog post is still the most prominent piece of content in Google for searches like '7d timelapse night'' and rightly so! I'm waiting for a really clear night to go out and do my first bit of astrophotography!

Dungeness is sure as hell a long way to travel from Manchester, but I feel compelled to go! Would love to see you do another one of these!

You've captured the Andromeda galaxy aswell! It's photons have been traveling unaltered for over 2 million years to end up on your chip. That's one of the most awe-inspiring aspects of astrophotography to me.

Bump. Looking at intervalometers now, wouldn't mind a nudge in a particular direction.

Great lapses, and absolutely LOVE the music! Holst and his planets are favourites of mine.

Found your blog linked from a norwegian site, brilliant and inspiring stuff you've got here - keep it up!

Not bad. I'm surprised 30 seconds didn't get you too much streaking, was this downrezzed a lot from largeish photos?

I haven't done much timelapse, but I have gone out many times in the middle of the night (1AM is my favorite time to get where I'm going) to shoot stars and various other night scenes. Sunrises are also great. I'd bet it was as cold there as it is here, similar environment, except that we usually get fogged out. You also have to be careful where you go here, since running into the wrong people at that hour can result in your not coming back. And I usually drive on twisty one lane country roads. Totally worth it for night shots, something most people don't get with the difficulty, and I hope you continue with it.

Peter, in this case manual is the way to go, and I'm sure that's what he used.

Hi Phill, what was the setting you were using on your camera? Manual? Apeture Priority?

Thanks

Philip,

Where can I buy this collection? I myself have a lot of classical music CDs, none of which is royalty-free. :(
