Today is the day that the first webisode of the new show I made with Zacuto’s Steve Weiss goes live. The site to go to is Zacuto.com/Critics

It’s basically Steve and I watching videos and films from Vimeo and discussing them. Simple concept! It’s fun and hopefully it will introduce you to some great film makers on line that you haven’t come across…and of course some you may not like so much!

Matthew Byori Mann and Daniel Skubal answered my twitter call for help to do some BTS filming, they responded. Worked pro-bono on the show, like me, just for the crack and did a brilliant job. So much so that Matt is actually hired to do the BTS on film fellas now and Daniel has been hired full time and does all sorts of great creative things for them like the titles on this show. Check out BTS from critics below.

  • I remember watching 1000 words about a year ago, really enjoyed watching it, great short film.

    • you trying to say we aren’t current Mr. Jag35?! ;-)

    • This is the first time I’ve seen his work – thanks to Critics! A stunning director, to say the least. He’s done a couple more as well … here’s an interview he gave earlier this year, along with the names of his other works: http://blog.mtviggy.com/2009/05/11/thousand-words-by-ted-chung/

Thank you Critics (and Phillip for your great eye, both in your own works and in finding the great works of others) !

  • Philip, Thanks for the shoutouts. Dan was a camera whore and dove into every stills shot there is. I was more ninja-like and did it for the art, not the fame ;)

  • Loved the format. Thanks for the behind-the-scenes footage, that always adds so much to director wanna-bes like myself :)
